Christ, the Lord, is risen today, Alleluia!
Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth, reply, Alleluia!
Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Lo! the Sun’s eclipse is over, Alleluia!
Lo! He sets in blood no more, Alleluia!
Vain the stone, the watch, the seal, Alleluia!
Christ hath burst the gates of hell, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids His rise, Alleluia!
Christ hath opened paradise, Alleluia!
Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once He died our souls to save, Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!
Soar we now where Christ hath led, Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!
Hail, the Lord of earth and Heaven, Alleluia!
Praise to Thee by both be given, Alleluia!
Thee we greet triumphant now, Alleluia!
Hail, the resurrection, thou, Alleluia!
King of glory, Soul of bliss, Alleluia!
Everlasting life is this, Alleluia!
Thee to know, Thy power to prove, Alleluia!
Thus to sing and thus to love, Alleluia!
Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!
Unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia!
Who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!
Sinners to redeem and save. Alleluia!
But the pains that He endured, Alleluia!
Our salvation have procured, Alleluia!
Now above the sky He’s King, Alleluia!
Where the angels ever sing. Alleluia!
Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
Who did once upon the cross, Alleluia!
Suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia!

. . . Also known as Pi Day! Yes, I am a huge nerd. But when my roommate insisted on doing something for my birthday and I realized that the best night to hold a get-together was Saturday, 3/14, I knew I had to have a Pi Day Party! Oh, man was it a blast! We had pie for dinner (pizza for the non-northeasterners), PIne nut salad, PIneapple ginger agua fresca (yum!) and everyone brought their favorite pie for dessert. I had door prizes for the best pie, who could recite the most digits of pi, who answered the most questions right on a quiz about pi and who won the most pie pieces in a game of Trivial Pursuit. The door prize were candles . . . in PIneapple Fusion and Warm Apple Pie scent. All in all, we had a great (and very nerdy) time. I love being an engineer! ;-P

Snow in SETX! Who would have thought?! I knew when I went to bed last night that there was a possibility, but I figured it would just end up being rain, and even if it did snow, the snow would melt once it hit the ground. Imagine my surprise when I went to leave this morning and realized there was snow on the ground! I was later than normal to work (thank goodness for flexible schedules!) because I had to take advantage of it all. Unfortunately, it had all melted by the time I got off work, but at least I have the pictures to prove it actually happened . . .

Two things I have learned today:
1. CutCo knives are very sharp.
2. Butterfly bandaids would be a good purchase.

Father's Day Redux
I meant to post this last Sunday on Father's Day, but what with calling the fatherly figures in my life, I completely forgot. When I wrote about my mom in response to a question in Bible study, "Who is someone that has the capacity to make you feel loved and what in particular does he or she do to cause you to feel so lovable?", I also wrote about my father:
I read an article the other day about a girl whose father never failed to ask her if she’d checked the oil in her car. Over time, the girl came to realize that this was her father’s way of saying “I love you.” I laughed, because that is a question my father never fails to ask me either, but I also realized too that that is his way of expressing love. Don’t get me wrong, he’ll say the words, but those words would mean nothing if he hadn’t backed them up with action. With over-long lectures about house-buying, stock-purchasing, car-buying, you-name-it. With too much concern over the state of my finances. With random email conversations when we both should be working. With long bike rides by the Poudre. With innumerable attempts to set me up. With ice cream purchases to get me my calcium. With surprise car washes. With surprise trips to ice-skating shows when I know he’d far rather be listening to his favorite sport team losing. With sappy emails any time he hears a song about a dad and his little girl. My dad loves me, of that I have no doubt. Not only because he tells me, which is nice, but because he’s constantly showing that love in everything he does.
